I have a fabulous husband who thinks the only good reason for running is if you are being chased.  My 2 year old daughter is beautiful and so much fun to play with!  She so badly wants to be a big girl.  She has recently started carrying a purse so that she can be more like her mommy.

So, I just got off the phone with my sister, affectionately known to this community as crumpyb1, who has been going on and on about this blog.  She told me that I should join and record my mileage at least.  She also told me that she would comment on my blog.

So here I am.  I have never been what you would consider a serious runner.  The furthest I have ever run is 5 miles and I've only done that twice.  I'm a happy 3 miler.  Any less than that, and I feel like my body has not gotten enough cardio.  Any more than that and I worry about everything else I could be using my time for.

I haven't really run in about 3 years.  I'm tired of being out of shape and miss the stress relief running used to bring me.  I started back on Thursday and I'm doing a jog/walk.  Right now it is more walking then jogging, but slowly it will evolve and be more jogging then walking.  I don't know if I will ever go fast enough for most of you to consider it running, but I'm okay with that.

Sometimes I take my daughter Abby.  She's two.  But since I don't have a jogging stroller, that will probably be fewer times as opposed to more.  Especially when I start jogging more and walking less.

Anyway, it will be fun to keep track of my mileage and see what everyone else is doing as well!

Welcome to the blog! And congrats on your decision to get back into running. I think you'll find being on the blog a huge help in achieving your running goals.

Welcome to the blog! 3 miles a day 6 days a week will get you into great shape, definitely good enough to run a 10 K. Assuming you have your sister's running genes, I would imagine you should have no problem running 5 K under 25:00, and 10 K under 55:00 with this kind of training after 6 consistent months or so.

Welcome to the blog! I just started running Wednesday after a year-and-a-half off, so I know how the jog/walk is. It helps to have some other people who are starting/starting again so I don't feel so bad throwing the walk in there.

Welcome! Always a pleasure to have a member of Adrianne's family. She is AWESOME, and I'm sure you are too. Cute little one!

Hello, sis! I thought I'd be the first one to comment on your blog, but no. I am the fifth. It just goes to show how cool the blog is.

Great job on the 3 miles! Go for another three on Monday! Yahoo!

Sounds like you are off to a good start! Aren't little girls so much fun! I have 3 but they aren't little anymore. But I still always look at the toddlers section in Old Navy and other favorite stores because the clothes are so darn cute!

Welcome, I had to explain to Sasha your member name. SEESPOT, I told him I think it is in reference to the little kid begining reader books and the line that goes "see Spot" (the dog), "see Spot run." I hope I was right. I do not think Sasha was familiar with this since he did not learn to read in the USA from such books.

Hi!! It's Adrianne's running partner from Provo...I'm happy to see you here...I'm hope that you enjoy the friendship and encouragement you'll find on this blog. Good luck getting in to shape. I'm guessing you'll be able to make your first goal of 3 miles in under 36 minutes pretty quick.

Congratulations on starting running again. Your life is organized that you do have time again. Love to you.

Jog/walk today.  I think it was more jog than walk, but I can't be sure.  I have to clock the route again and mark every 1/2 mile, so I have a better way to judge how much I run and how much I walk.  Boy, it sure feels good to be moving again.

Regarding my nickname, seespot does come from the children's books about the puppy Spot.  See Spot run, etc.  Anyway, I was joining my very first messageboard a few years back and was trying to come up with a good name and the only thing I could think of was seespot.  It really has no significance to me, other than I had a mental block to anything clever at the time.  Since then, it has been my online identity.

Anyway, I was fortunate to get a session in today.  Monday's are my Mary Kay meeting and there was a problem with babysitter, carpool this week, so I ended up not being able to go.  The chance to get outside on this beautiful 64 degree day was an almost acceptable trade off.

What lovely weather! Congratulations getting out and mostly JOGGING! I am having a lot of fun today with CAPITAL LETTERS! Are capital letters still associated with yelling when you type?

From Seespot on Mon, Oct 15, 2007 at 21:43:57

Either yelling or excitement. The way you use them it seems like excitement.

Today was a beautiful 45 degrees when I ran.  I can happily say that I know for a fact today was more jogging than walking.  YIPPEEE!!!  I should be jogging the entire 3 within a month or so.

I lived in Florida for six years until recently moving to Utah.  This colder weather is interesting.  I miss not having to bundle my daughter up and only needing my jacket about 2 weeks out of the year.  However, part of me does really enjoy running in the cold.  I can't figure out why right now.  When I figure it out I will let you know.  There is something invigorating about it.

I just found out my mom is coming to visit for a few days in December.  That will be fun.  Technically, she is coming to help her mom out, so she will be staying at Grandma's house the whole time.  We will be heading up there for a day to hang out with her.  Maybe I'll run by Grandma's that day.  It would be change.  She is slightly higher in elevation that I am.

Busy day today.  After making myself presentable, I'm heading to the post office, library, car dealership, then to the Allergy Dr for testing(so fun!).  During these errands, I have to make about twenty phone calls for my business.  Oh yeah, I have to go to Home Depot as well.  My husband wants me to pick up a new deadbolt lock for our front door.  We spent about 15 minutes trying to get into our house last night.  My husband was on the verge of breaking a window when we were finally able to get the door open.

Lots of Smiles to everyone!  Have a fantabulous day!

That is one long list of errands! Were you able to get it all done? How was the doctor? Did they tell you that you're allergic to every?

Sorry to hear about the deadbolt.

And congratulations on running more than walking!

I was thinking today that we could have run together. If we were still in Provo, I'd run with Sarah in the mornings and could run with you in the afternoons. Oh, well. At least we can run when I come visit.

Lars is done for the week! Midterms are over and Lars doesn't feel like he flunked out!! At least he thinks he didn't flunk out.

Ate something bad before running, so it ended up being a shorter walk, but it was something.

Also had a great appointment this morning for my Mary Kay business.

with the colder weather, breathing becomes a little more difficult.  However, with time that will improve.

Today was busy, but good.  I'm looking forward to tomorrow, as I will get to work on my Halloween costume.  I'm going to be Tonks, from the Harry Potter series and I'm going to spray my hair pink.  SO FUN!!!

Good luck with the comstume. Are you going to have witch's robes?

I don't plan on dressing up this year. But, I do plan on making white chilli for the Trunk-or-Treat on Friday.
